The Kid's Club classes are geared primarily towards Karate-do training, however several basic self defence techniques are incorporated into the curriculum to achieve balanced self defence skills. Kids karate classes provide basic karate lessons in an active and fun environment. Kid's and parent's can begin to experience the benefit karate has for discipline, respect, self control and physical skills, through a combination of exercises, karate basics and games. Through their practice of this martial art they will learn the most valuable lessons and virtues in life: Courage, Courtesy, Integrity, Humility, Self Control and Respect. You will be amazed at how quickly your child will apply these lessons in their life and schoolwork. Kids classes are run at all Dojo's at various times. See class timetable. | |
Adult classes are run in a relaxed atmosphere in which beginners are more than welcome. We teach traditional Okinawan karate as still taught in the Goju Ryu Dojos on the island of Okinawa. Students are taught basic technique, kata and self defence techniques through a series of partner drills and bagwork.
Classes are run in a traditional manner with much of the class called in Japanese. All students can expect an improvement in their fitness, co-ordination, balance and self confidence with regular training.
Okinawa Goju Ryu encourages it members to work together as a team in class. Student are relaxed and made to feel comfortable, enabling them the atmosphere to learn well. There are opportunities for students to ask questions regularly, as well as to work with a partner, which helps students in their training.
With regular training student's can expect improvement's in overall fitness & strength, co-ordination, balance and self-esteem.

Kids are graded according to age, ability, attitude to training and respect for teachers and fellow students.
